Projects

Faith Lutheran College
Energy Rich Solar were contracted to supply and install the commercial 100kW solar PV system. Working in a school environment presents it’s unique challenges. Working closely with IT, working ethically to protect information and working safely. All our team members have blue cards, asbestos awareness certificates, CPR and LV resuscitation, working safely at heights certificates and there is always a team member onsite who has a first Aid qualification. We have used two 50kW Fimer Inverters for this project and thank the college for their kind review.

University of Queensland
Energy Rich Solar had the honour of installing The world’s largest PVT system at the University of Queensland! Engaged to supply, design and install the solar component of the project. Innovative Dualsun photovoltaic and thermal solar panel’s provide the University of Queensland’s Aquatic centre with both electricity and the heating of three pools. A large inverter enclosure houses the commercial inverters with monitoring, displaying consumption and generation of power and associated savings, carbon emission’s offsets and offset of all associated heating costs. This project presented challenges around working with the busy centre’s opening and closing hours, project schedule, other construction works on site and working closely with the engineers and the pool heating company. We used two commercial Sungrow Inverters for this 100kW project.

Thursday Island Convenience
We have chosen to highlight this medium commercial project for it’s unique location on Thursday Island! Presenting logistical challenges with freighting two 50kW solar systems by sea, Energy Rich organised all materials and freight and thankfully without forgetting anything! There are no electrical wholesalers on the island so fitting in with tight project schedules, having to fly or ship something from the mainland was not an option. Building a strong working relationship with the islands local electrician was also helpful, but sadly for the community he has now joined Energy Rich as new partner. Two commercial 50kW SMA inverters were used on this project.

St. Pauls College Testing
This massive 650kW commercial solar system installed by others ran into some damage. Engineer’s alongside Energy Rich were engaged to perform the rectification works. A detailed proposal was supplied to the college. Scope of works included detailed fault simulation, DC surge protection on each of the twenty inverters, fuses, communication isolation and surge protection from field equipment back to network, segregation of server racks, new ethernet connection and cable runs, providing as built drawings and mapping of this large Solar Edge system. Many technical challenges have presented and been resolved on this project with the aide of the IT, Engineers and Energy Rich’s team of trade and technical minds.

Isis War Memorial Pool
The Isis War Memorial swimming pool was the first photovoltaic and thermal heating project installed by Energy Rich alongside our solar pool heating partners. This system has 30kw’s of panels on the public pool’s new beautifully curved roof. Presenting a unique challenge for our team to lay panels in an aesthetically pleasing way, we think we have succeeded. This innovative technology allows for the Bundaberg Regional Council to off-set operational expenditure, expect savings of $31,266 per annum, for the system to pay for itself within just 6 years (based on current electricity prices), generate 62.15MWhs in solar PV electrical production and to allow budget to be placed back into the community. Energy Rich used two Sunny Tripower Inverters on this project.

Bundy Asian
Engaged to install 40kW of Solar PV power, Energy Rich also supplied Sungrow Battery storage. Air-conditioning was to be implemented onsite so through the use of solar PV electricity the site is able to utilise the solar production during the day and off-set some of the additional costs of running air-conditioning during the night through power stored by the batteries.
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU
frequently asked questions
Benefits of solar For Business
Solar is a low risk, high reward opportunity for business. Commercial solar is often an even better investment than residential solar.
Businesses often use most of their power during the day giving a better return on investment. The power generated from the solar system is used in the premises first and will save your current tariff charge, usually around 22 cents/ kWh. Any surplus electricity flows back to the Energy retailer via the electricity grid. The surplus or export is sold as a feed in tariff (FIT) rate back to the grid for usually around 7-15 cents/kWh depending on where you are based and what your energy retailer offers.
With the improved energy efficiency for business and reducing carbon emissions there is a definite potential to improve profitability and reduce electricity bills.
Energy Rich Solar and Electrical provides potential business customers ‘Solar Energy Solutions’ with calculations on projected savings on your electricity bills. We calculate your savings by using your current tariff charge and a projected solar feed in rate (FIT). Please contact our experts so we can provide you with a solution.
Questions to ask your electricity retailer
If applicable in your area, you will need to enter into an agreement with your electricity retailer. Retailers offer different plans so it is best to check and compare to help ensure you’re getting a good deal.
What price will they pay for your solar export?
Is the solar export rate capped to a maximum of kw hours? This may apply to systems that are larger than 5kW of inverter capacity.
What is the cost of electricity you purchase from them?
What is the daily access charge cost?
Are there any other administration fees?
Commercial Solar Installation
We have the technical knowledge and expertise in commercial installations backed by years of experience installing commercial solar on some of the largest organisations in Queensland. Please click on our blog ‘Financial Gains for Business’ for more information.
We have a dedicated management & solar installation team, including a network of professional sub contractors, skilled team of solar installers, electrical engineer, well established suppliers and IT experts. Quality assurance checks and safe work conditions are implemented in the management of all our projects to ensure their smooth running and customer satisfaction. In larger projects a registered electrical engineer is engaged to inspect and sign-off on the installation.
